    Unfortunately there is very little connection between the purposes for which we pay tax and the purposes for which that money is used. From each taxpayer according to his ability to pay (or avoid) tax; to each department of State according to its need. Business Rates are the worst example of this. Not only do businesses get back not a single penny piece in value for the money they pay, they get more and more red tape heaped upon them every year.
