Andy, it was nothing to do with KCC, they were there and gave the Highways Agency quite a going over on lack of detail.
Whitfield were one of 9 parish councils invited along with DDC, DTC and Canterbury.
Only Lydden and DTC sent reps, and Nigel Collor was there with more hats on than Sue Nicholas has in her collection
None of the 20 or so businesses and organisations likely to be affected sent a rep. but it was pointed out to the Highways Agency organisers that this was likely due to the relatively short notice and 10am start for the meeting.
It's very disconcerting that the Highways Agency can propose changes that are from their own statistics likely to increase the rate of accidents, you would have thought their aim would be to bring them down.
