  If the service is poor, ditch the service!!! If they are not taking away the rubbish properly (and how hard can that be..?) they are not doing what they are paid to do. I am sick of having rubbish left on my road, too, although it isn't as bad as some. The binmen leave detritus all over the road - clearly seagulls strew some around, but the binmen strew the rest - and no-one comes along afterwards to pick up. We used to have a great street cleaner, haven't seen him in months, and meanwhile glass is left to mince tyres and cr*p lies along the roadside.
