BAT WALK AND MOTH NIGHT, KEARSNEY ABBEY, DOVER
Join a short walk around the lovely grounds of Kearsney Abbey, stopping to hear about bats
and listen with bat detectors. We'll walk through the big trees, grassland and finish near
the lake to watch the bats feeding over the water.
Also, take the opportunity to learn about the moths attracted to the light traps. You can stay as long or as little as you like. Please bring a torch and a bat detector if you have one.
Suggested donation of £2 appreciated.
Please note: there is open water at this site so do not let children run off. LEADERS: Shirley
Thompson (Kent Bat Group), Tony Rouse (The moth man) and Melanie Wrigley (White Cliffs
Countryside Partnership (01304 241806 or 07880 706990). MEET: Kearsney Abbey café car
park, Alkham Valley Road, River, Dover. DISTANCE: 0.5 mile (2 hours or more). GRADE: 2.
