Slightly leftfield (as I can't be bothered with the political bickering), but the air quality in Dover is surprisingly good. The evidence for this comes from lichens; the trees on the hills at Aycliffe have numerous types of lichen thriving on them. Lichens only tend to grow if atmospheric conditions are clean, the fact that they are there is a positive environmental indicator.
