  Thank you Howard - you are of course quite right. That was a follow up to a previous email and I was trying to find a solution that would not result in certain consequences and a 'knock-on' to the forum, I did tell PaulB that I would not act against the forum as such, if matters came to taking action.
  
  It would have been wiser of John just to make a dignified statement withdrawing his comments as I suggested.
  
  In respect of his reference to a previous thread/discussion, I repeat, this specific matter of dispute was not a matter of offense, if it was then there would not be an issue. This was a matter of what my solicitor called 'deflamation' (I think thats the right spelling) and was about implied dishonesty in his post that had no humourous context to it. Indeed the whole matter was around his use of the word honest. His claimed '3 apologies' and claims of a joke were not done in a manner that was acceptable and would not have served as a defence under the laws of libel.
  
  I will not continue in a response to John's comments but I will accept his withdrawal, however grudgingly, and leave the matter there.
