Does anyone else remember that TV programme from the early sixties call 'All Our Yesterdays'
It was the story of World War 2 told largely through the newsreels.
It must have been shown on a Saturday night because I remember sat with my grandparents, the whole family around one of those small flickering black and white tv's of the time.
I remember the awe and sheer reverence my grandparents had for Churchill. I was fascinated by him, I listened to his drum-roll voice as parts of his great inspirational speeches were broadcast and I learned whole passages by heart.
It was from this programme that I learned so much about the war and what people went through.
I dont suppose any of the programmes have survived and will never appear on DVD. A pity, an original tv classic....
