Does anyone else remember that TV programme from the early sixties call 'All Our Yesterdays'
It was the story of World War 2 told largely through the newsreels.
It must have been shown on a Saturday night because I remember sat with my grandparents, the whole family around one of those small flickering black and white tv's of the time.
I remember the awe and sheer reverence my grandparents had for Churchill. I was fascinated by him, I listened to his drum-roll voice as parts of his great inspirational speeches were broadcast and I learned whole passages by heart.
It was from this programme that I learned so much about the war and what people went through.
I dont suppose any of the programmes have survived and will never appear on DVD. A pity, an original tv classic....
I remember the series well BarryW. It was required viewing in our household.
More info (but not much) here:

I cannot find any dvd versions of the programme, but, having searched for years to find the BBC series, The Borgias, only yesterday I found it on a new website specialising in old stuff:

Whilst the series was slated for using an incomprehensible Adolfo Celli as the main man, the superb music went under most peoples radar. I bought the dvd this morning, 29 years after it was first aired!

I actually bought Telford's Change from Tv Nostalgia. The picture quality leaves a lot to be desired. It's a pirate copy complete the UK Gold logo in the corner!

On our tv from the early 60s onward`s Barry, with Brian Inglis. Compulsive viewing. Definately not shown on a Saturday. Tuesday or Friday if I remember correctly, on Southern Television at 7pm.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

I can remember Telfords change,in one part a school was shown,it was Astor secondary, the one which was then known as the new building.1978/79 was my last year there and a selected few were chosen for a scene when coming out of school, walking down the school slope in an orderly and well behaved fashion.Only the best behaved and best dressed were chosen for the scene.I was not asked as i was neither.
