  I find it hard to believe that even 'oop north' it makes a lot of difference whether you go to work in the dark or come home in the dark. It would make even less difference to shift workers, I used to work nights going in in the dark and (during the winter) going home in the dark. Surely if it helps to unify trading hours across Europe it could only be good for business, or is the objection because it is "across Europe"?
