11:2289038When I first came to Dover in the early 70s I remember seeing a lighthouse halfway up the wall on the first building on the left as you went into Effingam crescent.
If I remember rightly, it vanished in the mid 90s. Any of you know the story behind it being there or what happened to it?

12:2889055Thanks for that Trevor, I can sleep at night now.
I wonder why it was removed and what happened to it?

13:0089061Yes Howard, they moved to Temple Ewell, on the left hand side just before leaving the village on the way to Canterbury. They closed down a couple of years ago and the place is now a carwash. I don't recall ever seeing the lighthouse there.

15:0289072Bob said Longleys were there, obviously 'light-house' is a play on words for their business. Solved by Paul.
