Let's give them a chance. Lydden Bell has recently reopened as a Freehouse and has a good range of ales and a very tasty looking menu. Plus a menu gourmet/gourmand on the last Thursday of every month- seven courses and seven wines. All for £39.95.

Looks very smart from the outside, hope they do well. We used to pop in for a quick one after shopping and to the folky nights that were held there before moving to Crabble Mill.
Agreeing with Peter, The Lydden Bell has been busy since it re-opened as they have good beer, good food and staff who treat the customer right.

ALL POSTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS
Did i hear that it was a previous chief at the The Lydden Bell that has now come back as the landlord?
I'm down there Sunday night for a skittles match so it will be good to have a look.

Paul, not a chief but a chef! It's Jason who moved I think to The Crown at Eythorne and then the Rose and Crown at Elham. I might pop down there too, it's reported to be a fun night.
Ah yes Ray
