Good posting Nigel.
Last week, before we (Councillors) took our vote on the Big-Screen, I thought I ought to go and ask the businesses what they thought of it.
I didn't get round to all of them, but before the Planning Committee meeting next week sits, I will try and talk to all of them.
The ones I did speak to, some were in favour, some not.
Fast food places and places where drink was sold, were in favour, others thought it really was/is a ludicrous idea and what on earth can the authority be thinking of.
There are very strong views for it and equally strong views against it - a very difficult decision.
Granting or rejecting Planning permission for any application is a serious decision, this one even more so - it's not just a case of ticking boxes, this will make a big difference to Dover -for good or ill.
Roger
