  I would like to add that many scientists who understand genetics and evolution have a Christian faith, neither they nor the church see one as excluding the other.
  
  As for providing evidence, you don't do that by writing on a blog, you do it by the scientific method of publishing original research in a peer-reviewed journal with sufficient information to allow anyone else to duplicate the research, some examples relevant to the current discussion for those with an open mind -
  
  How and when did microbes change the world?
  
  It is now agreed that animals evolved from choanozoan protozoa and that sponges are the most primitive extant animals.
