Richard Ansell, who is the keyboard playing half of Rags2Riches, was also in a band called
Blues Academy who were stalwarts of Cullins Yard four years ago - at least until their drummer became too ill to play. He died from pancreatic cancer in September 2008.
They were lucky enough to be able to record an album of original material with him before he died. That album is now ready and will be launched at the Comedy Night at Dover Town Hall on 4th November - a gig organised and promoted by Richard Esdale (the other half of Rags to Riches - they played a couple of times at La Salle Verte - absolutely brilliant) along with Evolution Productions, the production company behind the Marlowe Pantomime (amongst others around the country).
Ezzie (Richard Esdale) is constantly trying to improve the entertainment scene in Dover and they really want this evening to succeed for many reasons.
Most importantly perhaps, all proceeds from the sale of the album will go to the two main pancreatic cancer charities.
For my part, I will be promoting this event through my email circulars; there is a poster that will be attached, but not sure if PaulB can put the poster up on here - PaulB ?
I'll send round the circular email and attach the poster to it: if anyone would like to be added to my email address groups, please do let me know; the emails are all sent blind, so you cannot receive any scam or spam emails from them.
Please help to make this a real success and have a great evening too.
Roger
