Reports today from the USA (Sunday Times) say that the average age of Taliban commanders has fallen from 35 to 25 due to attrition rates. Over last three months it has been reported that 339 mid-level Taliban commanders have been killed and 949 foot soldiers.
They are saying that the Taliban are being driven to the negotiating table by this level of attrition.
