the police arrived shortly afterwards.
the pre school staff were assigned to knock on doors and try to track the owners of the offending vehicles.

I take it the bin men have this problem every week in this area, but what if it was the fire brigade for a serious fire it really not bear thinking about.
Did the police issue a few parking tickets Howard?

not the norm in my road harry.
i don't think the police issue parking tickets now, they didn't on any of these vehicles
interestingly enough the car on the double yellows was driven off 2 hours later by the lady who knocked at my door asking me who owned the cars.

I once asked the Fire Officer at Dover station that very question Harry. He replied that if they considered it a matter of life and death they would just use the tender to push the obstuction out of the way!

With a row of vehicles as shown in those pictures I doubt a fire engine would push them out of the way and if it could it would take up precious time.

HOWARD;
We don't tend to disagree on many subjects, but what to do on belgrave/clarendon appears to be one we differ on.
The binmen cant get through because of cars parked partly on pavements, if they parked all the road the stuation would be even worse.
The emergency services(fire) have always said they will always get through if theres a problem, alhough as harry says it could be valuable sconds lost, and of course a costly exercise of damage to cars, compensation claims etc.
