I can now announce the date for the next
FRONTLINE DOVER
Armed Forces Day weekend.
It will be one week before the official Armed Forces Day in the hope we can attract more vehicles etc on the weekend of the 23rd/24th June 2012 in Pencester Gardens.
All the regular favourites will be there, including the Swingtime Sweethearts plus some new acts on the bandstand. We now have the support of the Dover Army Cadets and other groups who have never before participated in the weekend.
We will be keeping it fresh with a few changes as well. I will make more announcements as they become available, planning starts in earnest next week.

a great event as it stands doesn't need too many changes, talking to people the military and vintage vehicles seem to be the biggest draw so anymore would be a bonus.

Well done Barry and your team.
You're right Howard, I love those 1940s vehicles and cars - military or not.

For 2012 we are holding the event on the weekend before the official AFD and keeping our fingers crossed we will still be in the timeframe for grant in the hope we will have less competition for the vehicles and attract more down.
The USO will not be there next year but we are hoping that many of their acts will be along. We will also have more cadets involved with the Dover Army Cadets now on board and, hopefully, the Sea Cadets provided it does not clash with something else they have. Of course our usuals, the Dover ATC and Marine Cadets will be there.
We also have a formula that might help us get more corporate sponsorship too and some more contacts - we may arrange some corporate hospitality for them, perhaps a VIP seating area, that kind of thing.
Anyway these are just some first thoughts, we will discuss this and a lot more in a week or so to get started on it.
