Edith Cavell arrived through Dover in May 1919. There is a bellringers' plaque to her in St Mary's church; they ran a peal of Grandsire Triples while her body rested in Dover overnight. For a picture of the board and of the procession see here.

Captain Fryatt also was brought home through Dover in 1919. According to orders issued to the Mercantile Marine, he had attempted to ram an enemy submarine. He was later captured and executed.

The passenger luggage van that carried all three bodies has been bought and gifted to the Kent and East Sussex Railway, and is being restored, also through a Heritage Lottery Fund grant. It will be available to view by the public on Tenterden station, on 11 November to 14 November between 11am and 4pm. It will be viewable afterwards, in various places and, I'm told, can also be used on the railway network. It's been decorated appropriately, and I understand there will be a replica coffin in the van.

Just as extra interest, the gun carriage that bore the body of the Unknown Warrior on 11 November 1920 is also on display, at Firepower, The Royal Artillery Musuem in Woolwich.
