Following PaulB's front page with ours great news about the Heritage Lottery Fund grant, here are some updates. The Unknown Warrior came home through Dover on 10th November 1920, so this year is the 90th anniversary.

Young people in Dover have been busy!

3rd Dover Scout Group and 8th Dover Brownies worked with artist Jonathan Boast to create a stained-glass window design - it'll be on display in Westmisnter Abbey during Rememnrbance. That's the background of the window they're painting above - mind you, it wasn't only the window that got painted....

The window will be of three layers of glass. The central layer will be the design of the panes; they represent the six casualties the young folk are studying as part of the project. This pane is my favourite - it's of Tommy Eaves, who founded the 3rd (St Martins) Dover Scouts, and after whom Eaves Hall, where they meet, and Eaves Road are named. The pane is a collage of images from his life.

Tommy Eaves used to teach at St Martins School, and they've been busy there too! Watch this space, as they say ...
