Well spotted there Howard..these milestones creep up on us thick and fast and unexpected. Yes in the era of Facebook and Twitter we are still going strong. As Howard says a huge thanks goes to the everyday contributors and those who do it almost everyday. This keeps not only other forumite clubmates entertained but also our readers. We sometimes get amazing feedback from our readership out there who are also on the ball with what we do.
Ive had a bit of a trawl though the picture archives this morning...to show some of the things we got up to through the years. A random selection. Year featured here...2008.
First up is a familiar face with wife
Yes its busy contributor Terry Nunn pictured at the Town Hall in 2008, on the left is wife Maureen.. and lurking with notepad in the background is none other than ColetteB.
This one shows the visit from Government Minister Liam Byrne to the Port of Dover again in 2008, I say government Minister...but of course at the time. New government now and Liam Byrne is now a Shadow Minister. Famed of course for saying when he left office that there was "no money left!" Also in the shot is old favourite Gwyn Prosser, our one time Labour MP now out of politics. Also there at the far left is ColetteB, in the centre is Marijke Cox well known journalist from several newsapers, that's her with finger on chin..also in shot is blonde reporter but for the moment her name escapes me, worked for Dover Mercury for short while but now in Deal. Anyone help with the name?..ah...its come to me...Beth Robson.
The third one features that man Paul Scotchie Wells again. This time being presented with some money yet again. He won some competition we ran at the time as I remember...and no we are not always giving Scotchie money, even though we would like to. Won fair and square...lol!
This was taken at a party in the White Horse again 2008. Also in shot you can see that young Nigel Collor fella on the right, and over to the left Barry W-S. Doing the chegue presentation is Jan Tranter herself.
PS: just to add...yes the 6M figure only applies from mid March 2008 when this new section was built by our hi-tech man himself Chris Tutthill.
