Thanks Maggie - wise words. I loathe all things medical so wasn't exactly quick off the mark last year in initially visiting my GP. I have learned my lesson on that and when I became ill again a few weeks later I went back right away. I was told I would have to wait a few days for an appointment even though I was 'at risk' so I said that I would go home and call out the emergency doctor. That did the trick and an appointment suddenly became available.

It was awful for Les, he didn't think he'd be bringing me home again. There were so many questions like why wasn't I initially diagnosed with septicemia on my first visit to hospital instead of being sent home again. Why was I told by some I had pneumonia and others I didn't. Would it have changed things......who knows. I'm still here and that's the main thing.

To echo what you said, don't delay in getting treatment it can save your life.
