I know a friendly dragon;
Clarence is his name.
He lives by the sea at Broadstairs
And now he's back again.
That's the first verse of Clarence's song. We used to spend the week over at Broadstairs during the folk week when my children were small. They and my mum loved it.
Clarence has a second verse too, as his mouth is a collection box:
He likes eating money
For dinner every day,
So hurry up and feed him
Before he goes away.
We used to be informed that Clarence didn't digest coppers very well, but that silver and folding stuff were much better for his stomach.
