Dover great first half two up but main thing it was very good football. Second half they were rubbish and it was not long before it was two each, and gain I have yet to see 90mins of good football and left with 8 mins to go.WE pay for 90mins but only get 45mins.

I do not know much about football, but I do about fittness,Dover are not fit,I am not on about ball skills,I can see they have that or most of them do,but two points (1) They do not train as a team much, and they need to do that alot more,It takes more than a few hours of training each week to make a good team and the Dover players do not do that.(2) When I was a boxer come trainer I was out training 6days aweek +having a full time job to hold down with long hours,Dover players are only part-time but that does not stop some of them geting out on the road running or c/training,it is not all about skills with the ball you need the fittness to go with it. Yes it was very hot,but all the other football teams playing Saturday were in the same heat, and this is where the fittness comes in, if you are fit and I mean fit you should and would play 69mins of football in all weathers and more than once aweek.Dover do have the making of a good team ,but to get there they are (1)Going to have to play more training as a team that will get them using their skills better as a team.(2) They must as players get fitter, after all they get paid, we done it because we loved doing it.

Although I don't fully agree with first poster there is in football in general a lack passion at times.
obviously at the top level players are paid far to much, and the game has been spoilt by it, and out of the reach of many which is sad.
but getting back to Dover, they are part time and have agents, and if you were paid for a part time job but expected to do full time hours would you?????
Paulw and I go back to the Bill swain/Alan reynolds/alan ferguson alan marley days(remember them paulw???)
some of the most passionate players and probably best players on the non league circuit at the time.
but times have moved on, players are now employed part time, in these hours are the match games, and the twice a week training(i think)
fitness is important im sure a lot of the players outside of training do keep as fit as possible.
the manager has said this is an area he needs to concentrate on.
the manager in the last season stated the team he had he inherited, this season he cannot use that one, and will be expected to do well.
last season without doubt some players were just going through the motions, and certainly at times lacked passion.
hopefully this season crabble will like old become a place opposing teams feared coming to.
£13 is a lot of money and it is expcted the players on the day give there all
although i love to see dover do well
even if they lose but give 100% i would be happy

We totally dominated first half and though we let them back into it in the second half we still had at least 5 good goal scoring chances, all this on the hottest day of the year, cut them slack chaps.

Mr Martin sir, yes I do,that is what they have to try and do give it 100% for the whole of the 90mins+, The Dover fans expect that and so they should at home and away,I have been going up to see Dover from the 1950s and I do not call myself a fan when working I was away on Saturdays most weeks, but now have more time to follow Dover but will only be dong that if I see them given it what it takes to be a goodside most of the time if not all the time.

So who on here could give their all on a pitch for 90 minutes in that heat, sorry Vic not even you in your prime.
Dover dominated the first half scored two good goals and were cruising, they then in the second half looked to have decided to stick with what they had got and the opposition latched onto that plus their manager made a couple of changes where he saw our weakness down the left flank.
Once Farnbourgh got back into the game it was always going to be difficult to raise your game again and then they got a very iffy penalty. We then started to wake up again, had it not been for their keeper making a couple of good saves at the end we could have won.
Viv they are part timers not full time and train as a team twice a week after doing a days work and train hard to say they are not fit is total rubbish. Time to make assessments is after about 10 games not after 90 minutes.

I expect it was because it was such a nice day that so few fans turned up.
I can remember back in the dark ages when soccer was the autumn and winter game and cricket was the summer game, how things change and not always for the better.
Posted this with my stirring head on.

The facts remain if dover is to be challenging for promotion at the end of the season then they did to pick up 3 p;oints in all weathers, all pitches good or bad,
more so at home
but hey, the team is new and needs to gel
so as harry says lets look again after 10 games

Howard, I stand corrected I always thought the season used to start properly in September.
