  It strikes me that this has been organised by upper echelons (Cameron himself) in a bid to silence his critics and clamp down on any dissent. That's what Blair did and used very effectively his spin doctors to do the job. Alistair Campbell springs to mind amongst others.
  It strikes me that this is another step to "modernise" the party and lays down a track to it becoming a social democratic party much like the liberals and therefore much like parties in many parts of Europe.
  Which means in the end that any objective criticism of the leadership will be stamped down on from high in order that everything remains, er, naice. You know like naice gween environmental policies and naice europhile ideas and naice socially liberal equalitarian measures so beloved by Brussels.
  So much for the new intake being rampant right wingers eh?
