I attended the above beer and cider festival yesterday which was held in the Peoples Park. It's a 4 day affair with housed under massive marquees with in and outdoor seating.
There were 101 beers on offer here are a few of the stranger sounding ales
Chocolate Orange Stout from Derbyshire
Blindmans Happycock from Somerset
Concrete Cow Cloven Hoof from Bucks
Pocket Lady Hamiliton from Jersey
Skullsplitter 8% from Orkney
Red Willow Ageless 7.2% from Cheshire
Potbelly Crazy Daze 5.5% from Northants
It was £3 entrance then tokens, Prices - Beer from £2.40 Cider from £3.00
Needless to say I didn't take my camera but will try to get a photo today. What surprised me is the number of blokes that had come over just for the 4 day booze up.

Randalls is still going strong it has 17 tenanted pubs and hotels, 1 managed pub, 4 off-licences and an airport duty-free shop. Jersey still has the award winning Mary Ann brewery.

Weather yesterday was super but today it's windy and grey but dry. There were plenty of young ladies enjoying the delights, music and food at the festival. Great friendly atomsphere.

My sympathies, Marek. All you post about Jersey are excellent flower festivals, fabulous weather, great beaches and, now, beer and cider festivals. Surely you had enough of those in Dover and were hoping for a change!!

I do miss my friends in Dover..thats very true. Luckily I have gone from one coastal town to another.I couldn't live away from the sea. The big differences are Jersey is a non EU member, crime rate is at a 10 year low, streets are very clean and it's a safe place to bring up kids. Disadvantages are high cost of living, very expensive house prices, high rents, quiet in winter and employment restrictions for non residents. But you have to make the best of wherever you live. Luckily I have a brother and sister on the island with their respective families..just a pity I'm the black sheep of the family..
