15:3981301thought i saw at the top of jubilee way === 2 x eiffel towers
as i was going down towards docks , spotted the queen waving out of windsor castle on top of the cliffs
along by the old county hotel , it said albert dock was liverpool now dover
kearsney abbey had now turned into richmond park with deers
folkestone road was renamed park lane with 5 star hotels
was i dreaming ? no it was the dover council website 2020 !!!!!!!
on second thoughts , it was 2030 and dover looked nothing different to today , still talking about the county hotel coming down and folkestone road back to alsyum alley

17:1481321Thats right Howard, all moving far and wide waiting for people to be kicked out of their council houses under the new government scheme.

19:5181337Towards the election campaigh for May, I'll be campaigning for more local economic autonomy for Kent County, with a fair disribution of revenues to all the Districts. It will envisage a proposal that less moeny go to the national Treasury from local taxes, and hence less money will be needed from the national Treasury. Kent could be prospering from even hald of our own revenues. We could solve our unemployment problem, and stop planned future mass migrations to Kent from London!

08:2681403At least we'd be quids in Brian. Your obsession with all things EU is quite scary and very very unhealthy; you must be the most obsessed person in Dover, probably England.

18:0081470Well it wasn't quite clear in post 1 what the thread was about, it seemed it had to do with changing names of roads, or at least Folkestone Road, where I live.
I'd sugest Folkestone Road remmain as such, and that Dover Castle remain Dover Castle.
Mentioning Dover Castle, how's about that part of the Eastern Heights being Dover's main landmark, together with the Church and Light-tower, overlooking the Sea and Dover!
That is my chosen landmark anyway, and there couldn't be a better one.
