I bought my first colour tv in that shop when it was CIVIC, before that it was Murdochs selling brown goods and, wait for it, gramophone records. Artistes appearing at the Granada would often sign there records there. 78's of course. Later it was Our Price.

The manager of Murdochs, and CIVIC was Sid Godson. His son Peter worked at the Dover Express before moving to South Africa.

    Halcyon days.

    Terry (getting all wistful)
