Here's a picture of the carpark at the Premier Inn this morning Ron. Couldnt believe it, never heard a drop falling. Clearly I was sleeping the sleep of the innocent.

My giddy aunt...it will probably mean the trains are subject to delay due to 'wrong type' of rain falling on the lines.

With a bit of luck they will finally be able to ascertain whether the hole in the roof has been mended and get rid of the scaffolding which is sticking out into the car park making parking a misery.
By the way it was still lightning at gone 2 am and the rain was pouring down Winchelsea in torrents. Drains blocked again!
wow i slept right through this last night , look like i missed a cracking storm

all looked benign at sunset, didn't hear any thunder later.
when i woke up this morning everywhere was saturated, strangely the cat turned up bone dry.
must have broken into someone's house and spent the night there.

i slept through the great storm of 1987(i think that was the year), came downstairs notice that there was no electricity, looked out the window and reached the conclusion that someone had nicked my front fence.
eventually the penny dropped.

My husband was working on the ferries that night. I was terrified by the crashing and banging that went on around the house so buried myself under the duvet, not exactly a safe haven.
Next door lost some tiles while our chimney and a few tiles were damaged plus the loss of the fence so despite the awful noise we were lucky. Someone we knew never did find out what happened to their greenhouse, they were only left with the broken glass.

I read the thread title and was reminded of what the actress said to the archbishop.
Nice to see Keith has a one track mind.
