A poll out today shows that the public no longer trust Clegg , that the coaltion is bad for the country and that it won't last its full term of 5 years.
No real surprises there then, but if Cameron had the bottle he should call a snap election before the Labour Party recovers further.
Another interesting point is that should Salmond succeed in gaining Independance for Scotland then the Labour party would be decimated and the Tories would walk into power.
As a lefty the coaltion is bad for the government,bad for the country and bad for the future of democracy.

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

Marek - has someone not told you that the elections are over.....
Well, whatever else and the coalition is certainly a 'second best' option, it remains better than what we were saddled with for 13 years the architects of the current problems, Labour...

i thought the next election date was set in stone anyway, should the coalition fail it would mean a minority government.

Clegg is desperate to seem tough or 'potent', that favoured word of those with delusions of grandeur. He won't achieve that with the Tories who can do as they please while he rolls over. Clegg's claims to be getting tough on the NHS were revealed to be over the concessions that Cameron has already agreed to in order to keep his own member's happy. Lots of noise but no substance.
Clegg's best chance for rehabilitation is to side with the Labour Party and Greens in a 'progressive alliance' to rein in the excesses of Cameron and prove that he has a social conscience rather than just a lust for power.

i think mark was speaking in hope rather than expectation.
when one has a title like "deputy prime minister" it would be strange to throw it all away over a silly thing like morality.

HOWARD;
I think cleggy will be cornered by his own party reeling from the local elections
and seeing the writing on the wall.
They are on borrowed time an unless cleggy pulls something spectacular out of the bag then the cobbled together will collapse.
realy this woul be the best time for the tories to go for a genreral election, lib dems at there lowest ebb ever, and labour still re building.
if the tories leave it to long that little bit of the unknown will fade, and with it the support for the tories.
