  I agree Bern, I walked back from the Market Square the other day and there was one really awful looking empty shop that gave such a run down impression to the whole street.
  
  If a place is clean and tidy it deters others from spoiling that look. When there is rubbish blowing around and weeds growing out of pavements and gutters that is not a good start it gives a we do not care impression.
  
  I do wish schools could do more to instil the do not drop litter idea into pupils heads, so many parents do not seem to bother anymore.
