It appears the cobbled together lot are looking at how big business is abusing the use of these numbers to bleed even more dosh out of us.
trouble is, they are looking to take on business's but once again thev decided that banks can continue with these numbers
embarrassed by this Barclays are saying they wont use these numbers

If I ever need to call anyone who uses 0845/0870 numbers I use
www.saynoto0870.com
and enter the number to find either a Freephone number or local number. 9 times out of 10 I get an alternate number to use.

0800 numbers are free.

PS just come back to edit that. 0800 numbers are free from a landline, not from mobiles where they are charged at your contract rate.
