Costa Coffee - oh dear!

11 November 2007

A busy day...first The Remembrance Sunday ceremony, then a late lunch with Doverforum Dick and Daughter, then being forced at gunpoint by said daughter around the town centre shops on a spendspree, a daughter who is a past master at subjecting my poor unfortunate credit card to extreme cruelty. The credit card tries hard and often to get out of my pocket and make a run for it...but so far hasnt managed ever to escape.

Anyway enough of my woes and miseries...so in an effort to cheer me up, following the loss of a small fortune, daughter BB suggests a trip into Costa Coffee. She had a soft drink and I tried a hot chocolate as a reviver but it wasnt a good one as these things go. But my whinge is this ...this is supposed to be a highly slick professional outfit, coming to town with a considerable reputation, yet it looked awful today....every single table, I kid you not, every single table had heaps of used dishes on it. There was not a free table to be had, without a load of unwashed dirty crockery festering away on top of it. I am not talking about just one or two or even three tables here but ALL of them. So without an option we had to sit down amongst the crockery. Great shame. We pushed the dirty dishes out of the way and sat down chatting over the heaped unwashed crockery. Doesnt half put you off...... sigh...its not cheap in there either! Not much good therefore on the customer care front.
