Time to act....

...on getting out of the European Human Rights convention and to repeal the UK's HRA.  Yes, that means getting out of the EU as well which is a bonus.  A nice 'package' that to put before a referendum....

These mad interfering European judges really have gone too far.  Once we were told, when we were idiotic enough to drop capital punishment, that life would mean life.  It was not long before that was watered down so all but the worse murderers got out of jail after a few years and now, the European HR Court says that even the very worse of them should qualify for release.

Soft 'liberal' attitudes towards crime have resulted simply in more and more crime.  There is just not sufficient deterrence in our criminal justice system.  This latest ruling constitutes a clear and present danger to all of us and, in particular, our children.

Time to get back to proper punishment for wrongdoers - if even Brady (below) can now qualify for parole it is time to return to hanging for monsters like him.

  BUT!
  The Law is like an endless game of Dominoes:close-up it is a simple matter to see the logic of matching a 'six' with a 'six' etc., but when the game is viewed from further off there seems little rhyme or reason in its snaky twists and turns.
  Even regarding the very few instances of violent crimes, thought serious enough to warrant the Death Penalty (where one is available) or permanent imprisonment, where an individual's guilt is beyond question or is admitted.
  Are we to take a life for a life in each case, irrespective of the particular nature of the crime; its relative wantonness?
  Should the State [the prosecuting authority] be capable of the worst degree of 'wantonness' ?
  Should any 'body', internally certain of its righteousness, never be questioned, examined or tested.
