Eleven Empty Spaces

As part of Dover Museum's oral history project 'Eleven Empty Spaces' to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the bombing at the Royal Marines Barracks in Deal, the Museum is looking for items of interest you may have that could be part of a special exhibition.

Project organisers are holding special open days at the Museum on 3 and 10 February between 1 and 4pm, where you can bring along any artifacts you would be willing to lend, or any pictures or images that could be scanned and displayed.

The exhibition will be about the events of that day, along with a more general history of the Marines in Deal, and the aftermath of the bombing. This is part of the wider oral history project, in remembrance of the eleven young men who were so tragically killed.

The exhibition is due to take place this summer. For more information on the project, contact Dover Museum on 01304 201066 or email linda.mewes@dover.gov.uk.
