Dover District Gets Ready To Vote

People across Dover District will be casting their votes for European and County elections, and also for some Parish and Town Council seats, on Thursday 4 June.

One hundred and thirty three candidates are being fielded by 15 parties for the 10 seats that make up the South East region of the European Parliament, and 23 candidates will be competing for seven local seats on Kent County Council in five areas, Deal, Dover North, Dover Town, Dover West and Sandwich. There are also two vacant seats on Deal Town Council, one on Worth Parish Council, and ten on Eythorne Parish Council.

There are 60 polling stations in Dover District, which are open from 7am until 10pm.

County, and Town and Parish votes will be counted on Friday 5 June with results expected at around mid afternoon. Votes for the European Parliament will be counted on Sunday evening and a local result is expected at around 9pm.
