    Then they apply for something else then. I did not have a licence until my 30's and managed to find work.

    Next it will be the case of they don't have a 4 bedroom house to live in and no internet or luxuries so we need to pay for that (sarcasm) but the real issue is the want of that person to work not a case of this or that training. Depending what age they are they can still do training in a whole host of fields yet if they have not the gumption to do it, it is back to the "they can't be arsed". Even if older there are oppurtunities and they need to go and seize them not just moan about it.

    Stop making excuses.

    As for the article, they should get at least min wage for the hours they work for their benefits and the work should be relevant or enable them to learn basic skills that they can build on. May be better that they work towards a NVQ that they can carry on with if they find employment.
