  Governments of all colours have been adept at manipulating the unemployment figures, our present one is no different. The latest scam is to make the long term unemployed self employed. The way they do this is to allow the claimant to do odd jobs here and there without affecting their jobseekers allowance. the claimants love it as it means they don't have to sign on anymore..
  
  As for the deficit which was supposed to nil by now the IMF predict we will still be £7 billion short in 2020.
