Yes I know that the Telegraph is more supporting Conservatives more than Labour, but facts are facts.
Britain is enjoying its best rate of employment in 40 years and has become a poster-child of economic success in a depressed world still struggling to shake off the lingering effects of the financial crisis, George Osborne has claimed.
Basking in lavish praise from the International Monetary Fund, the Chancellor said the latest jobs data are a resounding triumph for British economic management under the Conservatives.
"The UK economy is one of the brighter spots in the world economy at the moment. That is confirmed by the IMF forecast, which shows the UK is the second fastest growing economy of the G7 in the next two years, after being the fastest-growing in 2014," he said.
"All of that is more than reinforced by the employment figures we saw this morning, which showed a record number of people in work, and claimant counts at the lowest level since 1975," he said.
Unemployment dropped by 76,000 to 1.84m over the three months to February. A record 31m people are in work, and the jobless rate has fallen to 5.6pc, close to the inflexion point where it starts to generate wage pressures.
"The British economy is a job-creating machine, and we set out plans today as the Conservative Party, to go on creating 2m jobs in the next parliament," he said.
I appreciate that not everything is working well for everyone, but it is nearly there.

Governments of all colours have been adept at manipulating the unemployment figures, our present one is no different. The latest scam is to make the long term unemployed self employed. The way they do this is to allow the claimant to do odd jobs here and there without affecting their jobseekers allowance. the claimants love it as it means they don't have to sign on anymore..
As for the deficit which was supposed to nil by now the IMF predict we will still be £7 billion short in 2020.

Howard, I'll trade your £7billion for Labour's admitted £30billion which is being challenged by IFS etc.
Do you want twist or stick.

I am not suggesting any one party is more competent than the others Paul, in this case it is the blues trying to pull the wool over people's eyes. People in work are 5.7% worse of in real terms compared to 2010, we know also that zero hours jobs have risen dramatically too. Food banks are welcoming their millionth customer and twice the number of people sleeping rough since 2010. Osborne refuses to say where the £8 billion for the NHS will come from or the £12 billion in welfare cuts will hit.
Put it all together and they cannot stand on their record.

As Labour are taking on Conservative spending plans + £30 billion extra Howard I hate to think how you are going to resolve those issues. Deeper into debt, increased interest payments. hitting the wealth creating element of the economy doesn't add up.

Nothing to do with me Paul, I won't be voting except for District Council, the whole political system is farcical at election time.
All parties are trying to outbid each other with freebies for the voters and failing to say how they will fund things. The deficit will always be there if we continue with austerity but only growth meaning higher tax revenues will make a serious dent in it.

If you aren't voting don't comment, one thing I have always said if you don't exercise your voice in voting then don't comment on it as you have no voice.

As someone who has voted in every Local and National election since I was 18 I think I am within my rights to write "none of this lot" on my ballot paper. I did this at the Euro election last year for the first time because none of the parties gave reasons to vote for them just reasons why we shouldn't vote for the others.
This forthcoming election is a total farce with everyone claiming to offer us everything we want despite there not being the money to do it.

What you said first is different to writing on it and casting it. I retract my bit as you are still voting. If you weren't casting vote then I would still say no comment even if you voted before

More like "Doing a lot better than the mess the last lot left us in." Remember that note about all the money has gone
