Bloody Hell. What ever happened to working for the good of the community? The only way that ever happens properly is in partnership.

Gosh some serious sense of humour bypass surgery in evidence here
Anyway my point was as Bern so nicely articulated - that the old ways of fixing the NHS will and can no longer work
It is time for something new, a new approach, a new mentality, a new vision.

Keith - your problem is that you let your imagination run away with you and post what you think others may have done/said rather than what they actually have done/said.

The NHS reviews and improves continually..........not as fast as we would like...some of us have evidence of
failures...........but that should not encourage us to call for root and branch..............
One of the pilot schemes in progress is meant to scrap NHS Direct.....some of us have in the early
hours, when health invariably hick ups phoned NHS Direct. The service is very effective and deals with our
problems...........it does not need replacing.
The pilot scheme,if adopted, will evolve with lay people answering our call with the help of a computer...........
This is change for change sake and a change for an inferior service.
``The Week``comment...........`The Bills aims were` laudable `but with all these amendments mean it is no
longer worth saving. The proplem is that in seeking a compromise may now end up passing a deeply flawed
piece of legislation`

i think n.h.s direct was a great idea initially but gradually lost its purpose.
there were complaints of endless hanging on waiting for an answer and in some cases wrong advice being given sometimes because of staff not asking all the right questions.
Some of the NHS direct screening was also done by "lay people " and a computer script
