Moving ceremony this morning at St James cemetery commemorating the daring raid in Zeebrugge bt the Royal Navy on St George's day, 1918. Local organisations present plus over 20 Belgians, civilians, veterans and service personal had travelled from Zeebrugge to take part, also representative of government of Flanders. Wreath also laid to commemorate VE Day at the beautiful WW2 memorial. Such a wonderful calm place. Followed by service outside the Town Hall where Zeebrugge bell (a gift from the king of Belgium) was rung. Good to see so many of the public there.
