Let's start again, if reports are correct there will be a number of sitting town and district councillors hanging up their i-pads to enjoy a well earned retirement.
This inevitably means that new ones will take their place - add to that UKIP will be fielding candidates in over 30 of the 45 wards then it means that the course that the thread is about is a vital part of their learning curve, not forgetting anyone planning to stands as an independent.

I remember John Goodwin saying he was not standing again so that should mean one new face.

I have been asked to stand many times by more than one party but I refuse to tie myself to a political party and to stand as an independent is futile.

There was a group of independent candidates in the past Peter, I think 4 got elected to the Town council then later they disbanded without warning.

Yes, they called themselves the Independent Party. A splendid oxymoron. Messrs Precious, Dimmock, Rix and the fragrant Mrs Rapley if I remember rightly.
