It will be necessary to close the A256 Whitfield Hill, Dover, planned for Tuesday 12th March 2013, between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm.
The road will be closed between the junction with Kearsney Avenue and the Whitfield Roundabout, with no access between River / Kearsney and Whitfield using this route.
The alternative routes are:
Westbound via A2 Whitfield Roundabout, A2 Trunk Road, Jubilee Way, A20 Townwall Street, York Street, A256 High Street, London Road, Crabble Hill and London Road.
From River via London Road, Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, Barton Road, Frith Road, Maison Dieu Road, Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way and Whitfield Roundabout.
The closure is to enable carriageway repairs and resurfacing to be carried out on behalf of Kent County Council.
The works are weather dependent, and adverse conditions may delay their progress or prevent them going ahead on the planned dates.
If there is a need for a postponement, revised dates will be notified and signposted on site.

Having driven down Whitfield Hill earlier today I can't see any reason for re-surfacing the road. There's nothing wrong with it.
Am I right it thinking it was done not so long ago.

For a newly laid road, there are quite a few rough patches already (no doubt snow will be blamed), I suppose these will be repaired.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
