I was just about to confirm Judith's answer Howard and add that it was originally part of the old HMCE bonded warehouse the entrance to which was in Worthington Street, under the archway. It subsequently became part of W. Wood & Sons storeroom, there were about 7 large rooms and the room behind those doors / windows we stored many very large nuts, bolts and very large terractoa flower pots - a bit of Dover history.
I worked for Woods from 1961-78 many of the nuts and bolts were sold to DHB & Mears Bros for all the massive expansion at Dover East during the 1960s-70s. Apologies for the ramble.
