Normally the flag at the Town Hall would have been raised today however as it now flys everyday significant dates go unnoticed.Did they play the National Anthem on the Radio? there were no pictures in The Daily Mail .Recently I had the honour to meet her and it makes you realise how wonderful she is for her age.
Today it's all about politicians .We need to put the Great back into Britain.

Do they still fire the gun salute up at the castle?

There'll be loads of flags flying today, Sue is being admirably restrained in not saying why!

Sue and Pam toasting the Queen's birthday earlier today. Apologies for the look on the faces but it's difficult to catch people eating and drinking without them looking inelegant.

Sad to see the flag go up late and come down early. It was rubbing against the wall for all its worth. Why anybody would consider that appropriate is a mystery. Maybe consulting the advice from the Flag flying institute might have been useful. Those attending any publicly marked occasions , standing in the usual place, will stand with their back to the flag. It should have been placed on the other side of the front of the building as rightful place for a Union Flag. . . . No flag should be hoisted where it will knowingly be damaged etc. But then you already knew all that.

For those who hadn't been following other sources, Pam and Sue showing if you are going to toast the Queen's birthday you might as well do it in the right company.

If the truth is treason, then yes , Brian Dixon. Have you checked flag flying protocol? I have and even a 9 year old could tell me thar what we have is wrong, but of course , as it is not intended for the war memorial it does not bother me that much. A flag for the war memorial would need to be witin the fenced memorial garden. So that's 4500 people ignored on purpose. Cheers!

I have been told the gun salute has not been fired since the troops left Dover which explains why I have not heard it since I moved back to Dover.
I thought Sue would have known this having been a DDC councillor for such a long time.
