summer is now upon us, the fountain being prepared for use, the seafront groynes coming along nicely and the second cruise ship of the season in today.
Looked good when the Archbishop of Canterbury was there. It was also good to see an adult approach to the fountain and people congregating around it. and not closing it off.
the importance of the fountain is shown here, must have been a cruise liner in and the first thing most people do is take a photograph of the castle with the fountain in the foreground, then take more photos of each other standing in front of the fountain.
I can remember Watty saying on here a year or so back that the next time it packed up it would be curtains.
Thankfully a few pack ups later it is still going strong and is a great asset to our town, much as the Folkestone water feature is great fun for children and pet dogs it does not look as attractive as our fountain.
