I thought yesterday's hold up was due to an accident near the BP service station just outside Aycliffe.

I've heard lorries are beginning to back up on the A20.
Probably due to the remembrance day holiday on the continent and lorries timing their return to the port to begin driving when the driving ban ends.

Promises to be chaos tomorrow morning what with the port urging everyone to get there early to avoid the possible disruption in Calais.

But will they, I sometimes think those in charge of controlling the lorries are quite happy to see the traffic all snarled up.

The Calais strike is taking place and Operation Stack has started M20 between junctions 8 and 9.
Also further afield:-
"The M25 in Surrey is experiencing long delays between J11 and J9 due to emergency repairs to the road infrastructure which has closed 3 lanes. Radio reports indicated a road collapse."

It's quite usual for Tuesday evening - large numbers of lorries which come over on Sundays and Mondays heading back home.
