What a shame about the weather, it is so beautiful up there when the weather is bright and sunny. I'm sure the Queen will be very impressed with the new building and also the rest of the site but it's such a pity about the cold and rain after the lovely days we've had recently. Good luck to all involved and hope it all goes well.
Sue, your hat may get wet but at least your hair will stay dry lul. Wrap up warm though

I can't find anywhere about the time this is happening.
I was going to go, but without any indication of time, it's difficult to know when to go there.
If you're going Sue, you must know.
If it's this afternoon, the weather should be brighter. There is also to be a Spitfire fly-past if the weather is good/clear.

Let's hope the rain stops soon as Her Majesty will get wet on her way from the station to the bus stop, the same at the other end.

Surprised to see so many people brave the weather in the hope of getting a brief glimpse of Her Majesty, went past about half an hour ago, the car park was full with people going in and out of the new centre.

The site and centre look so appropriate from the air.

A very impressive building, well worth a viisit. The children from the local school did very well standing so long in the rain.I was fortunate as i did not have to stand outside ,just inside the main door. The Duke made me laugh,.

Went past the site earlier and despite the fog the car park seemed full but I noticed a pay and display sign?
Does anyone know if it was free until recently?

Have been regular visitor to site over the years with grandsons, and no, did not have to pay. I appreciate what the aim of the new centre is but I always liked the simplicity, quietness of the place, the statue, the commeration wall, beautiful, views. But no doubt will be taking them along to the new centre before long.

At least they get the income. Just like giving a donation, although I'm sure many people gave more than £1.00.

At least the parking fee is reasonable enough.

I think locals who visit by car will be disappointed in paying £.3 if they stay over an hour but coach operators can absorb 50p per passenger.

£1 IS OK for parking 1hr is not long enough though to explore the site, walk the dog and sit and enjoy breather, I'm afraid I'll be parking along the road and walking in. Sorry residents of Capel
