Dover not the place to be Saturday.
Truckers will block the Port of Dover on Saturday in protest of how the illegal migrant crisis effects them.
Lorry drivers, whose vehicles come under siege by foreign nationals desperate to reach Kent, are being slapped with fines of £2,000 per immigrant found in their vehicles - despite their efforts to stop them stowing away in their trucks.
The planned action - which could be illegal - will take place from 1pm.

Have great sympathy with the drivers on this, they are in a impossible position.

But they should be doing this in France, not here.

Roger, if they stop their trucks near Calais port they will be full of unwanted guests in a trice.

Absolute twaddle. Townwall St flowing freely in both directions.

Was down there just after 10 am, hardly any traffic at all.

I noticed a few days ago that the odious far right had moved in on this using an innocent sounding Facebook page.

I wonder if Kath saw the police even though Pike Road is a fair walk from the centre of Tilmanstone village.

More than it should Howard, I would rather the money was spent catching criminals.
I heard on one news report the Transport Association were against the proposed blockade. With BNP involvement this week and Britain First last week it seems Dover is a far right target.

It would be more accurate to describe the area where the immigrants decamped from the vehicle that they were hiding in as Eythorne, rather than Tilmanstone. Saw the police on the road and in the helicopter around the outskirts of Eythorne earlier, I doubt Tilmanstone village was even vaguely aware of the incident.

No doubt the far right will want to take their protests into the Town, cant see them being content with the Eastern Dock roundabout.

I reckon they will arrive in the morning and hold a "surgery" in the town centre, total waste of their time as Dover has never been fertile ground for the far right.

Very little traffic on Townwall Street this morning, waited 5 minutes for this truck to arrive - thought there would be a rush to get away before the demonstration. Plenty of police have been called in, in cars and on foot.
