EAST KENT RAILWAY TRUST NEEDS YOUR HELP TO SECURE £50,000!

Local project getting up steam for People's Millions vote on 24 November

The East Kent Railway Trust is a registered charity based in Shepherdswell nr Dover and is in the running for a £50,000 grant from the Big Lottery and ITV's The People's Millions.
Now it's all down to you!

The Trust needs your vote on Monday, 24 November between 9am and midnight when the project will be featured on ITV Meridian News.

For over twenty years many EKR volunteers have worked very hard to restore our Mining Heritage Railway, as a tourist attraction through the Kent countryside from Shepherdswell to Eythorne.
The next step we want to make is to restore our Steam Loco the St Dunstan that spent most of its working life at nearby Snowdown Colliery.

Gary Cox, EKRT Funding & Apprentice Scheme Liaison Officer, said: "It's fantastic news that our project has been selected as a finalist for the public vote for The People's Millions. We've had great support from Dover District Council in developing our bid, so we'd now like the rest of the community to get behind us and vote on 24 November.
Your vote will not only secure our railways future, it will also help to secure the very successful Apprenticeship Scheme that EKRT have been running for the last two years. We have given over 100 local youth rail track work training at our railway and found them employment in the Rail Industry. This scheme has not only changed the lives of those youths but also injected nearly £2Million into the local community.

Your vote will help us to continue to run and expand our Training & Apprentice Schemes at East Kent Railway.
The phone number to vote for the project will be announced on 24 November. For more information on The People's Millions visit www.peoplesmillions.org.uk
