The statistics Neil gave on the current ferries showed most of them are too big to fit in there, and smaller ones wouldn't be economical.
The traffic would be a nightmare too, either for Operation Stack overload or the port - things have changed tremendously in the last couple of years with the ever increasing retail parks around Westwood - I drove around there on Tuesday afternoon and it was crawling all the way until the new Pegwell bypass.
